VillageSoup Grant Program

Updated January 2007

PURPOSE OF PROGRAM: The VillageSoup Grant program awards a grant of 50% of the selected membership plan to successful applicants. This program is offered to help community charitable and service organizations leverage the power of being an orgMemberâ„¢ to engage and inform other community members on VillageSoup.

The policies outlined below are designed to help your organization use its member grant most effectively. It's not possible for us to list all of the potentially inappropriate uses of this program, so if you are a grantee and have questions about the guidelines and your campaigns, or need assistance at any time, please contact us.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE: The VillageSoup Grant program supports not-for-profit organizations whose bases of operations are in VillageSoup communities and who share our philosophy of community service, with a mission to enhance the vitality of the communities and the quality of life of those living in the communities served by VillageSoup.

Organizations need not have current 501(c)(3) status, as assigned by the Internal Revenue Service to be considered for a VillageSoup Grant.

WHO IS NOT ELIGIBLE: Organizations that are political in nature are not eligible, including those groups focused primarily on lobbying for political or policy change. Likewise social and recreational organizations with restricted memberships and dues are not eligible.

VillageSoup reserves the right to award orgMemberTM status to any organization. Selections are made at VillageSoup's sole discretion, and decisions regarding award recipients are final.

HOW TO APPLY: If your organization fits our eligibility requirements, we encourage you to apply.

Your application is more likely to be successful if you have a basic understanding of the VillageSoup orgMember program and the VillageSoup Grant Program Guidelines below. You will be asked to provide a brief statement about how your organization will benefit from participating in the VillageSoup Grant program.

When you submit your completed application online, the VillageSoup Grant committee (consisting of VillageSoup staff) is responsible for selecting award recipients. We will confirm your operating status in the community and review your application carefully.

Once we select award recipients, all applicants will receive email regarding the status of their application.

Please Note: We select VillageSoup Grant recipients every two months. You will know within two months or less whether or not you will receive a VillageSoup Grant award.

If your organization is selected, you will receive an award notification via email with detailed instructions for setting up your account, and contact information for a VillageSoup orgMemberTM specialist. Once you set up your orgMemberTM account and initial Enhanced Listing pages and banner ad, we will help your organization get up and running. If you need additional assistance, our VillageSoup orgMemberTM specialists can answer your questions and provide more help.

Please Note: If you do not create an orgMemberTM account by the deadline given in your award notification, your grant may be forfeited.
