Member Account Basics

Why should I become a VillageSoup.com orgMemberâ„¢?
As an OrgMemberâ„¢ you have 24/7 access to manage business information important to serving your patrons. From your account homepage you can click to post timely orgBriefs, orgOffers, Classifieds, Job Openings and manage all information on your enhanced listing page including address, hours of operation, photos, banner ads and important resource links.

You receive performance statistics for your ads and postings. These reports help you make smart decisions on the type of posts and ads you should continue, change or discontinue.

How will my Member Account information be used?
We will use your member account information to promote or sell additional services directly to you. We will neither distribute nor make accessible your information to any third party who is not operating on our behalf.

Member Account Management

Can I enter information myself?
Upon becoming a member, we send you an e-mail that contains login information and instructions to set up your searchable Enhanced Listing page, post your own bizBriefs, bizOffers, Classifieds, Job Openings and redeem your newspaper subscription(s).

Can I change information myself
All your information is totally manageable by you using your login information 24/7 from anyplace you can access the Internet.

When will my posts appear on the site?
Upon payment of membership fee, you will receive via email your username and password. Upon logging into your member account, you may begin entering your enhanced listing information, posting BizReports, orgOffers, Classifieds, Job Openings and banner ads. This information will appear online within fifteen minutes of your submission.

How can I retrieve a forgotten account password?
Go to the Log In link on any page. Upon seeing the login box, enter your account username and click the "forgot your password" link. You will then receive an email containing the password to the email address associated with your member account.

How do I cancel my member account?
You may cancel your membership at anytime by logging into your account and clicking on "Account Management" then "Cancel Membership." Your Enhanced Listing and all resource links will be removed from our data base and your credit card will not be charged after the end of the current term. Please note, if you do have additional active services such as banner and button ads and real estate listings, you will continue to be charged for them. You must cancel each service individually.

If you do not cancel your member account during your term, thirty days prior to the end of your term, we will send an email asking if you wish to renew your membership. Your membership will automatically renew and your credit card charged for a renewal of the same term as previously elected if we do receive a reply from you indicating you wish not to renew. Upon receipt of notice that you do not wish to renew, your Enhanced Listing and all resource links will be removed from our data base and your credit card will not be charged again. Please note, if you do have additional active services such as banner and button ads and real estate listings, you will continue to be charged for them. You must cancel each service individually.

Payments

How do I pay for my Membership and other services?
You may use your Visa or MasterCard credit or debit card or we will invoice you if you have an account with us. If you wish to open an account, contact
membership@villagesoup.com

How and when will my credit card be charged?
If you elect monthly payments, your credit card will be charged for your initial monthly payment within three days of your purchase. Your credit card will be charged on the same date each month until the end of the membership term you elected. Banner and text ads purchased on a flat monthly fee basic are handled the same way. Banner and text Ads purchased on a CPM basis will be charged based on the payment plan selected.

We do not offer refunds or credits for services canceled before the end of the term you elected.

Is the grant for the full amount of the membership fee?
If you are awarded a grant, it is for half (50%) of the full amount of the membership fee for the membership plan you selected.

What is the term of the grant?
VillageSoup reserves the right to cancel the grant at any time. Unless you choose to cancel your membership or VillageSoup notifies you that the grant will be terminated, the grant will continue from year to year.

Performance

How do I know how my membership and ordered services are performing?
Log in to your Account Management area and click on "Reports". All statistics related to your services are displayed here.

What reports can I access?
We report the number of times your Enhanced Listing Page, orgBriefs, bizOffers and Banner ads are viewed ("Views") as well as the number of times a site visitor clicks on a link related to your posts ("Clicks").

How can I optimize my member investment?
Use your member account's "Reports" to regularly monitor the performance of the various information you post to the site. Views, clicks and average rank data can indicate what types of information serve your customers and clients best.
