Nancy's Sewing Center was established in 1984 to fill a void in the beautiful coastal town of Belfast, Maine, which at that time had no fabric store. Out of a love of sewing and passion for fabrics, I started in one room, with a sewing machine, and 5 bolts of fabric.

This vision I had has evolved into what you see today, many square feet of 1500 bolts of wall to wall fabric, notions, yarn, fat quarters, patterns, books, and a quilting machine.

The love affair with fabrics and sewing started at the age of 9 when I made my first apron in 4-H and as the years past, I continued to sew for my five children and for 8 years as a seamstress for two of the local clothing manufacturers.

Sewing is something I love, and I hope that through this shop I can share that love with you, and that you will always find a warm, friendly welcome here. There are always new fabrics and products that will inspire you and encourage you as you develop your own projects.
