Luminarias

During the Relay For Life event, a beautiful Luminarias Ceremony takes place at 10pm, in which the track is lighted solely by candles in white paper bags (luminarias). The Luminarias are lit in honor of those fighting cancer or in remembrance of those who have lost their battle. As participants walk or run through the night, the luminaries remind and inspire us that the fight against cancer is about real people in our community.

Luminarias are the most visible and personalized way to donate to the fight against cancer. Last year in Rockport, 999 luminarias lit the night. The names of all those honored and remembered will be shown on a display throughout the night.
