Help us Recognize all of the Survivors

This is what the Relay For Life is all about. Thanks to the efforts of so many people around the world, we are learning more and more about cancer treatment and prevention. Survival rates are on the rise.

We want to recognize and honor every cancer survivor at our Relay For Life. To do that, we invite survivors from throughout our community to gather at the Relay, where we hold a special ceremony just for our honored guests. They also help kick off the Relay by walking the first lap around the track. A victory lap.

If you are a cancer survivor, or if you know any cancer survivors, please have them fill out our Invitation for Cancer Survivors and return it to us as soon as possible. The address can be found on the form.

Start Raising Money

There are many ways that you can go about your fund-raising. We ask that each team member try to raise a minimum of $100. To help you reach that goal, we have included some fund-raising tips for individuals, as well as some team fund-raising ideas, right here!

Incentive prizes will be awarded at the Rockport Relay based on the total that each individual has raised. Special recognition will also be given to the corporate and non-corporate teams with the highest total amount raised.

Don't Forget About the Luminarias!

At 10:30, a special candle-lighting ceremony is held in memory of the people that we have lost to cancer, and in honor of those who have survived. All of the lights go out around the track, the luminarias are lit, and we read aloud the names of each and every person for which a luminaria has been purchased. It is truly one of the most powerful and emotional moments of the Relay.

For each luminaria that someone would like to purchase in someone's name, a luminaria order form must be completed and returned to us as soon as possible. The minimum contribution per luminaria is $10, and each luminaria that you sell does count towards your individual and team fund-raising totals.

We ask that everyone try to sell as many luminarias as they can, and mail the completed luminaria forms to us by June 1st so we can guarantee that they will reach us by the Relay. Luminaria forms can be brought to the Relay, and additional luminarias can be purchased there, but there are thousands of luminarias for us to process every year, so the sooner we can get them, the better.

What Will I Need to Bring to the Relay?

We've come up with a checklist of suggested items for you to bring to the Relay. It would be a good idea for you to try and bring as many of these as you can, just to be safe!
