Relay for Life Photos

The First Annual Camden Hills Regional High School Relay For Life was a huge success. Take a moment and share the memories of this event.




Cancer survivors opened the midcoast's Relay for Life walking the first lap at 6 p.m. on Friday.


Tents and camps greeted the walkers and encouraged them through the night and the entire 18 hour relay.

Cancer knows no age limit.



The Knight family team begins their 18-hour vigil along with the other teams Friday evening.



Local cancer survivors memorialized themselves on a banner Friday and Saturday.



Decorations were the name of the game as many teams stayed over night, barbecuing and sharing time together.


The U.S.A. hour brought out the Statue of Liberty and her friends.



A special hour was devoted to the lighting of the luminarias that lined the track, honoring and remembering special people.



While many people have lost their lives to cancer, many more are bravely fighting and surviving.



A total of 629 luminarias lit the way for walkers Friday night.



These tents garnered first place in the tent decorating competition.



Saturday morning at 7 a.m. saw 10 members of Nathan's Superstars to the track, earning them an award for the most team members on the track at once.



Disney hour... Saturday morning brought out some new costumes from the Knight family team.



A team of local teachers... also walked.



The arrival of the noon hour Saturday... signaled the final lap and everybody joined in.



Chris Knight... gives sis Charlena a lift around the track for the final lap. Inspired by family and friends, Charlena walked for 17 hours straight.

Following her incredible 17-hour effort... Charlena (Knight) Beganny smiles despite her blisters and sore muscles, minor afflictions, she said, compared to what people with cancer go through.
